What is Confirmation as a Catholic?
The Roman Catholic Church views confirmation as a sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ. It confers the gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord) upon the recipient, who must be a baptized person at least seven years old.

What are the 5 requirements for Confirmation?

• Attend and participate in weekly scheduled religious education classes.
• Select a patron saint's name (of either gender) as a Confirmation name.
• Participate in the Confirmation Retreat.
• Study for and pass your Confirmation Exam. Select a sponsor.
• Perform a minimum of 10 hours of community service per year.

• You are registered and active member of a Catholic parish, for at least three (3) months.
• You are actively attending Mass and receiving Communion each week.
• You received all Sacraments in the Catholic Church. 
• You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• You must be someone other than the parent of the one to be confirmed.
